Churches of Revelation – October 16 - 24 (or 26), 2027
Join us for an amazing in-depth tour of the Seven Churches of Revelation, as well as Patmos and Istanbul, in October of 2027. Optional extension to Cappadocia, October 24-26
All sites include expert biblical teaching from Dr. Bryan O’Neal.
Brief intended itinerary:
Day 1, October 16 - Land in Istanbul and transfer to the hotel (some sightseeing if schedules permit)
Day 2, October 17 - Guided tour of the famous sites of Istanbul: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Spice Market, Bosporus Cruise, and more.
Day 3, October 18 - Fly to Izmir (biblical Smyrna), and also visit Pergamum; overnight in Izmir
Day 4, October 19 - After breakfast, depart for Thyatira, then on to Sardis and Philadelphia, before arriving at our hotel in Pamukkale.
Day 5, October 20 - Tour the vast sites of Heirapolis and Laodicea, and then off to our hotel in the costal city of Kusadasi
Day 6, October 21 - We spend most of this day touring the world-famous archeological site of Ephesus, as well as visiting the basilica dedicated to the apostle John, before returning to our hotel in Kusadasi.
Day 7, October 22 - On this day we take a charter boat to visit the island of Patmos where the apostle John received the vision of the Apocalypse. We'll visit the shrine at the traditional site of the Revelation, and enjoy free time on this beautiful Greek island, before returning to our charter boat and our hotel in Kusadasi.
Day 8, October 23 - we will return to the Izmir airport to fly back to Istanbul, where we will have free time
Day 9, October 24 - we return to the Istanbul airport for our flights to return home
Optional Cappadocia Extension (October 24-26
Day 9, October 24 - We will travel to the Istanbul airport, where we will fly together to the region of Cappadocia. Once landed, we will visit the famous Goreme “open-air museum,” a group of ancient churches carved from the rock. Most of these chapels have colorful frescoes inside, which date from the tenth to the 13th centuries. Then, we drive shortly to Uchisar Castle which is the panoramic watching point Cappadocia. Many rooms, steps, tunnel and galleries inside the castle.
Day 10, October 25 - Today you may have an optional Hot-Air Balloon Ride. Cappadocia is one of Turkey’s most fanciful and recognizable landscapes, and during this optional hot-air balloon flight, we’ll soar over its amber terrain and fairy-tale chimneys, savoring a unique panorama in the quiet, rosy light of dawn. After breakfast we drive to Soganli Open air Museum, a remarkable historical site known for its stunning rock-cut churches and monasteries. Dating back to the Byzantine era, the area features beautifully preserved frescoes depicting biblical scenes, offering a glimpse into early Christian art and culture. We will also visit Monks Valley which is famous for its iconic fairy chimneys, which were once hermitages for monks seeking solitude.
Day 11, October 26 - We will return to the Kayseri airport for our flight back to Istanbul and our connection to our return flights home.
