Journeys of Paul Through Greece (April 5-13, 2027)
with Optional Extension to Rome (April 13-16, 2027)
with Harvest Bible Church

Intended Itinerary:
Monday, April 5 – Land at the airport in Thessaloniki, Greece. Meet our bus and transfer to our hotel in Kavala (Biblical Neapolis).
Tuesday, April 6 – Tour Lydia and Philippi, and then, like Paul, on to visit Thessaloniki. We will also stay overnight in Thessaloniki.
Wednesday, April 7 – After breakfast, we leave for nearby Veria (biblical Berea), where there remains a 400-year-old synagogue on the same site Paul visited in Acts 17. We’ll also tour the Royal Tombs of Vergina – Greece’s version of King Tut’s tomb – where the remains, and the gold, of Phillp II were found (father of Alexander the Great, and namesake of the city of Philippi). We will overnight in Kalambaka.
Thursday, April 8 – We will begin our day with a visit to Meteora, the stunning site of Orthodox monasteries “up in the clouds.” As we begin to make our way to southern Greece, we will make a stop at Thermopylae (site of the famous battle of the 300 Spartans against the invading Persians). We will spend the night in Delphi.
Friday, April 9 – We begin with a tour of Delphi, a city rich in historic and biblical significance, though not named in Scripture. Our likely lunch stop will be in the picturesque town of Nafpaktos, before moving on to our hotel in Olympia.

Saturday, April 10 – Olympia (not Mt. Olympus) was the site of the ancient Olympic games, and much remains for our edification, including an understanding of the rich sporting metaphors of the New Testament. After Olympia, we will drive to the eastern Peloponnese, for our hotel in Nafplion.
Sunday, April 11 – We begin this Lord’s Day in biblical Corinth, probably the best “open Bible” site in Greece, with so many direct visible connections between what we can see and the biblical text. Eventually, we will make our way over to Athens, the capital of modern Greece.
Monday, April 12 – In Athens, we will visit Mars Hill, and the world-famous Parthenon atop the Acropolis, as well as allowing free time for additional sight-seeing or shopping.
Tuesday, April 13 – On this day, we head to the Athens airport, some to return home, and others to travel on to Rome for the optional extension into Italy (see details below).
Optional Extension to Rome

Tuesday, April 13 – For those continuing on together, we plan on an early flight out of Athens to allow us three full days in Rome. After landing in Rome, we will begin with a visit to one of the many catacomb complexes of the area, before coming into the city proper to walk through the many famous landmarks, such as the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Piazza Navona, and many more. We will check into our local hotel, where we will remain for three nights.
Wednesday, April 14 – To day we visit “Imperial Rome,” which is the Rome of Paul’s day, including the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, as well as lunch in the Jewish quarter (that is, the very location to which the letter of Romans was written). We will also visit St. Paul's Outside the Walls, the likely burial site of Paul, as well as other sites of biblical and historic significance.
Thursday, April 15 – This is “Vatican Rome,” which includes the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica, as well as offering free time in the city.
Friday, April 16 – We will return to the airport in Rome for our return flights to the States.
